So i read around that "Still waiting for root device" is a common problem with AMD CPU's even though thats a complete lie because i have OSX86 running on a AMD Desktop with out this issue..... Now is it only on certain Chipset.. Maybe.

Let me get to the Point.... I got 2 DVD's... One is iDeneb and the other is iATKOS... they both work just fine, tested them both out... Now the Laptop is a Compaq Presario v5000... Its Has a compatible AMD Seprom Processor 1GB Ram an the ATI Radeom Xpress 200 Graphics....

On Both DVD it just stays at "Waiting for Root Device" ..

AMD Seprom Processor

Instruction Set :MMX (+), 3DNow! (+), SSE, SSE2, SSE3 ... So yea it should work

I looked around the Site and answers come up with the whole Set HD as primary.... Its a laptop it already is.. I can though set it 2 Slave or Cable Select... I noticed it has the plugs for the jumpers on the HDD..as for the DVD-Drive i have no idea how to take that out an check.. Some people used a external DVD and it worked for them... for me it wont since i don't have one. I do have an external USB HDD an a 4GB Thumb-drive.

I also did try a couple boot commands...

platform=X86PC -v

-x -v

-f -v

platform=ACPI -v

All end with the same message... "Still Waiting for Root Device"

Somewhere I remember seeing a set of commands that are different that helped people get pass the message but so far still searching and haven't found anything useful.

Can you give more information?

I recommend you to use iATKOS v7, works like a charm...

Personally, I myself had problems with iPC, its not too advance...

Hope for the best!
