Attempting to Hackintosh a Sager NP9262

Well, I own a Sager NP9262 and while I'm happy running Vista and Win 7 for now, I now need to run Logic, which is only available for OSX. Unfortunately I don't have the option to go and buy a real Mac as of right now so instead I purchased a retail copy of Snow Leopard and a 250GB HD just for Hackintosh purposes.

 

I'm attempting to install OSX Snow Leopard on a Sager NP9262 with the following specs:

 

Core 2 Quad Q9650 (3.0 GHz - Stock Speed)

4 GB Ram

nVidia GeForce 9800M GT 512 MB (used to be SLI but one of the cards failed)

Clevo D900C motherboard (Intel P965/G965 Chipset - 82801HB/HR (ICH8/R) southbridge)

Raid 0 Partition with Vista + Non-Raid Win 7 RC

 

So I removed the HDD containing Win 7 RC and installed the blank HDD in its place.

 

On my first attempt I tried the method described here:

This got me to the Chameleon boot screen but I was unable to install OSX, as soon as I picked the OSX install it would display "You need to restart your computer...".

 

I also tried this method:

This did not work at all, I was unable to boot this image and thus could install OSX once again.

 

It seems to me I was on the right track with the first method but either I did something wrong or there is something with my computer that prevents it from booting. I suspect the rather simplistic BIOS on this laptop might be the culprit as most guides I have seen show a multitude of BIOS screens which is very different in my case.

 

I would apreciate any help and will continue trying.

Again I got the "You need to restart your computer..." message. It seems to me this method might work http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=199832 but I have yet to try it.

Ok so I managed to get further into the instalation process but still no luck...

 

I tried using Empire EFI to boot into the installation disk and I got stuck at "Still waiting for root device..."

 

I don't have access to a Mac at the moment but I am installing Snow Leopard on VM and hopefully that will allow me to make the boot usb.

 

I don't have the slightest idea of what causes "Still waiting for root device..." message but I'd apreciate any help.

Ok looks like I am making some progress in doing this now that I have a working OS X Snow Leopard installation inside of VM Ware. I managed to boot to the install disk but before it starts installing (grey screen with Apple logo and spinning thing) I get a prohibited sign and it pretty much just hangs. I have -v flag on but I see no text at this point (I'm assuming I shouldn't see any). I know some other people have had this problem but I haven't found a solution that works for my laptop. Any assistance would be more than welcome. Although I do realize this is quite hard to do especially considering this is a very oddball laptop.
