projekt k
ok so I am running 10.5.6 right now. I used Auzigog's Blog. is there anything i should know before i hit update. I mean if I have to replace a kext for sound or something no big deal, but i don't want to have to reformat. also i have no extra drive or room on my current drive to back up. anyways I want to know if things should run smooth or if theres something I should expect. thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202056-1056-1058-question/ Share on other sites

Lord_Jeremy
Heh, hope you haven't updated just yet. In the future, it's generally a good idea to wait a little while after posting. Check out this page for some helpful stuff. If you use the Voodoo kernel you might have issues with mismatched System.kext or Seatbelt.kext after you update. If that's the case the system may not boot until you update those kexts. projekt k
thanks. and no i haven't yet. I am actually not sure if my install is vanilla or voodoo. here is the guide i used. http://auzigog.com/2008/12/23/hackintosh-20/ I want to believe it is a vanilla install but i honestly don't know. I do have an extras folder with kexts and from what I have read that's how a vanilla install works with placing kexts. But i am not sure if there are more spread out on the drive and if an update would even effect this folder. if you have any suggestions with the info above let me know. projekt k
ok so everything worked fine except my audio now runs through "Line-Out", before it was working under Built-In also I lost headphone in audio preferences and found no way to enter headphone mode. though the kexts appear fine and everything else is great and the hack is more stable now. so If anyone can guide me to my headphone feature that would be awesome, thanks.
