muckypup
Hi all, Thanks for opening my post. I have been meaning to try out OSX86 for a while and found the time today to install the IPC 10.5.6 release on a T41 2374-K50. Unfortunately I have come unstuck when it comes to enabling wireless. My understanding is that I need to identify the wireless adaptor in the machine, then find and install the required kext. However, the machine already has OSX86 installed so I would be grateful if anybody knows what utility or command to use in OSX86 to find this out? (Is there anything say, equivalent to Device Manager in Windows?) Many thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201933-wireless-setup-on-thinkpad-t41-2374-k50-ipc-1056/ Share on other sites
muckypup
Thanks pdave54. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be an option that's equivalent to Windows "scan for new devices" and the Network tab in System Utilities only shows the ethernet card. Do I just need to keep installing kexts and hope I hit on the right one for my wireless adaptor? If only there was a way for OSX to tell me what the wireless adaptor actually was! inamays
I would like to know how to identify a built-in card as well. The manufacturer's website (of my computer - IBM T42) doesn't give any detail as to the model of wireless NIC I have. So as a result, I have no idea which kext to download to get this blasted thing working...
