wolf103fm
for some reason, on my retail 10.6.0 install on my new rig (info in sig) my volume keys do not actually change the volume, it makes the plop sound, and the bezel comes up on the screen but the level never changes, only mute actualy works, I can only change the volume level in system prefs. It does this not only with my onboard alc888 (working via azalia kext) but with my USB Griffin iMic too, which is supported by OS X out of the box, on a brand new install. vdac
Try PROXI, a good app for changing the button keys on a generic keyboard.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201911-volume-keys-not-working/#findComment-1388445 Share on other sites
