KeFfBoY
So.. since my network didn't work very well (connection dropping randomly) I decided to buy an original USB Ethernetadapter from Apple. And now I am very confused. I connect the adapter but the system doesn't seem to approve. I can see the adapter from System Profiler (says Apple USB Ethernet Adapter) but it says "Unkonwn: (Device has not been configured)" In Network Sooooooo.. I kinda assumed this would work right away. Is there anything I need to do to enable this adapter? I wonder if the fact that I did edit the IONetworkingFamily.kext to get my other Ethernetadapter to work (Changing one or two values to match my card ID) might have something to do with this? Anyone who can help me out? Thanks Anton Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201419-apple-original-usb-ethernet-adapter-doesnt-work/ Share on other sites
CharredPC
Not always, but usually in this case it's not the IONetworkingFamily, but the IOUSBFamily that is the issue. My USB-to-Ethernet adapter showed up but wouldn't function until I put back the stock IOUSBFamily... then it worked perfectly.
