Thursdayy
I have done a lot of reading from other x58 / i7 builds and their hackintosh successes. It seems like people have their PC's working with this motherboard but no one has given any hints on how to do it. I disabled all cores to 1, busratio=20 / mach_970 -v when installing. I installed it with bare minimums on iAtkos v7 on my 1TB hard drive. When I boot, I get stuck on the Apple logo with the spinning wheel. Then a circle with a line thru it shows up. This is as far as I have gotten to getting this to work. I have searched various threads but they all have methods which I don't want to follow (such as using JMicron and another HDD) This is my set up. Asus Rampage II Extreme eVGA NVidia 8600 GT Core i7 920 1TB hard drive - main 750GB - back up (for music and videos) 2x1.5TB in RAID 0 (3TB Total) and two spare 1.5TB lying around. This one tutorial suggested that I have Windows installed with MacDrive. This tutorial seems the best but I do not want to go this route because I do not want to install Windows 7 until I can get Leopard (hopefully snow leopard working) before I try to attempt to get a dual boot working. Any helps/hints when I get to the point with the apple logo and wheel spinning ? (i have messed around with the bios and used various terminal commands when booting from the hard drive) If you have the faintest idea please help because I have tried various techniques posted all over the web but I can't seem to get anything working. If anyone can guide me with a good idea of how to troubleshoot that would be greatly appreciated because this trial and error is not working out for me (i've been doing this the past two weeks!)
