kennygprs
I have a PowerBook G4 12" 1.5Ghz laptop. The laptop will not charge unless it's sleeping or its turned off. If it's on and the charger is plugged in, the battery meter says (Not Charging). In System Profiler, it reads the charger as 26 Watts but I just bought a new Apple charger from the apple store that is 65 Watts and shows as 65 watts on my friend's PowerBook. Also, the charger light ring never turns green when it is fully charged, it just turns off (no light). The light is also off if the charger is plugged in when the laptop is on. Any help will be greatly appreciated... CoconutBattery still shows this as a 90% life battery and there is nothing else wrong with the machine and it makes such a great little computer. Thanks! bonestonne
Try wiggling the plug around when it's plugged into the laptop. if that doesn't help, it's most likely that little board inside the powerbook. on the 15" model, the power input is not part of the logic board, but the 12" i'm not sure. http://www.ifixit.com/ that might help you out some. kennygprs
I actually just put in a new DC in board on the machine and used the iFixIt guide. It was actually really helpful but I don't want to tear this machine all apart again just to check it...
