lynxznet Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Alright, first things first. I have been trying to get lovely leopard working on my rig for the past 3 days.. I have been reading as much as I possibly can to keep myself informed of the way stuff works and the installation process. I am pretty computer savvy, but I have apparently met my match with Mac. I first attempted an install with iDeneb, which suprisingly booted up for me asap off the disc and made me think it was going to install properly.. ding ding, until it froze at around 5% and gave me a lovely installation error Alright, so I figured I'd look up the error - which was "Installer could not validate the contents of the leopard package" or more specifically under the log defined as ... So.. I immediately go to get back in windows then realize I've screwed my boot sector up, lol. Then I decide to just reinstall win7 again - so I do. Then I try to correct the problem after looking all around for an answer on how to fix it.. put -v -x -y cpus=1 -f, etc etc etc.. then I finally realized those were for actually getting the stuff to launch rather then the installation itself. Either, I've got a corrupted image or a lot of bad luck right? haha.. well Then, I read a post on some forum of a guy saying kalyway was much easier to install and more compatible.. Okay, I think to myself - I download that, burn.. Pop the lovely dvd in - it turns into a never ending reboot fest.. I even start using commands, cpus=1, -v -x etc.. Nothing helped.. I can't get the kalyway installer to boot up =[ Alright, moving along I decide to find another distro - so I try iAtkos - yay! It installs.. I go to boot it up with chameleon after install - and bam.. nothing happens.. I'm dumbfounded by what occured cuz I even followed a guide and selected the specific customizations during the install. I've tried EVERYTHING to get this stuff to work and I'm getting really frustrated along the line.. I am able to launch mac now due to my successful iAtkos (10th install or so?) where I selected 100% proper customizations (i think?) and the only way I can launch it is from disc using the "rd=diskXsY" trick.. Not only that - once I get into mac.. My ethernet and video kexts apparently didn't work? I selected the right ones from the list but it seems like the install ignored me or something, lol. I am debating about trying iPC next and pressing my luck.. I'm really pulling my hair out right and left here, regardless.. Between chameleon not properly working to once i finally get it installed and up - the ethernet isn't properly working, oh and nvidia kexts didn't go through cuz the resolution is stuck at 1024x768. Anyone wanna offer some advice? I realize the topic is broad, but any answers to any of the problems listed would be AMAZING - thanks in advance. Specs in signature. I can no longer get back into mac by using rd=diskXsY =[ It now gives me this panic...
