viper2k Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Installation Guide – Mac OSX 10.6.2 Snow Leopard on HP Workstation xw4400 Hardware: Controller: Intel ICH7R SATA AHCI Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,4 Ghz RAM: 6 GB ECC Graphics: Zotac Geforce 9800 GT 1000MB Display: 2 x LG 19” for TwinView Harddisk: S-ATA Disk Network: RTL-8139 PCI-Card Sound: Creative Labs SB Audigy4 What works? ALL (TwinView,CE/QI,Sound,USB,Network) Using the Image “Snow Leopard 3.6 Universal” works via MBR/GUID Steps for a perfect installation 1. Burn the Image to a 4,7 GB DVD 2. Shutdown, plug in the PS/2 Keyboard 3. Start the PC and boot into the Snow Leopard Installation 4. Erase the target partition with “Disk Utility” and format with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - for installing on GUID click on the hard-disk and select the Volume Scheme and click on Options and select GUID – Close the Disc Utility 5. Open the Terminal and run the following commands: cd / sh MakeDSDT Partitionname //Partitionname e.g. Snow 6. go on with the installation (standard configuration) 7. Restart after installation (when the keyboard is not working, try to use a USB-keyboard and try other ports or try to boot into the save mode (with option”-x”) 8. Get the Network - RTL-8139 PCI-Card - working: - Open the /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext with “right mouse click” => Replace the Contents/Plugins/AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext with the one attached in the zip file 9.Restart => Networking is working now :-) 10.Get ready to get the graphic card fully working with full QI/CI support: - Copy the attached files(zip): NVinject.kext and NVEnabler 64.kext into /System/Library/Extensions/ 11.Reboot => Graphic is working with full QU/CI support. 12.Get the Audio - Creative Labs SB Audigy4 - working: - Install the kxAudioDriver-1.11bO.dmg and delete the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext (Importent, otherwise the sound will be not working) 13.Reboot => Audio is working Download Drivers: http://rapidshare.com/files/316804905/driv..._installing.zip I hope that helps a little bit :-) PLEASE TELL ME IF THAT HELPS YOU... savvymmx Posted September 1, 2010 Share Posted September 1, 2010 I installed iatkos S3 v2 on xw4400 only front usb are working (for mouse and keybord only - hard drive plug and play not working ). back usb and ps2 not working network bcm5755 not detected any idea. netsurfer912 Posted June 1, 2012 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I am actually using the standard version. After installation USB only works for pointing devices, and only if they are plugged in when starting. After Update Combo nothing works anymore (Did not use the Beast at any time). Ethernet solution: DHCP with manual IP, you also need to type in the router's adress.
