NathanAre
Hi, I'm currently on windows 7... I would like to install Mac OSX onto my pc and I'm not quite sure how I should go about it. I tried downloading and installing lots of different distos but just couldn't find the right one for my pc. If I post my specs will it be possible for somebody to tell me which distro to use? My specs: Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200938-acer-pc/ Share on other sites

lynxznet
Have you tried ideneb yet? Or kalyway? I've read those are both excellent distros that have generally smooth installs. Have you also tried googling your specific computer model? put the model in google with os86 next to it and see if you can find any guides.. but if it was me i'd try ideneb then kalyway.. And I've also tried googling it, nothing relevent at all :/ You tried both - as in popped in the disc and ran the installer? or as in you couldn't get the installer to come up? Is there an endless rebooting going on? Is the installer crashing? Exactly what is happening? Oh and.. you do know that you need a fat32 partition or get ready to have the entire hdd wiped.. Yeah I know I do, I installed iPC on my laptop. I've tried both as in, one of them (along with others) wouldn't get to the installer, and the other installed then wouldn't run (as did another I think.)
