cel9
Hello everyone. I'm totally new to osx86 and mac's. I just installed iATKOS v7 10.5.7 but I get stuck at apple logo screen. I tried using cpus=1, and -x but neither didn't help. When I use -v I get: Extension "com.apple.driver.iTunesPhoneDriver" has no explicit kernel dependency; using version 6.0. I'm using 9.7.0 Voodoo kernel Info about my laptop: Processor: Intel® Pentium Dual Core Processor T3400 (2.16GHz / 667MHz / 1MB) Main Chipset: Intel GM45 + ICH9M Graphics: Intel GMA X4500 (Int. Graphic) Can anyone please help me ? And one more question, I noticed that many users use Kalaway version - is it better ? Thank you. EDIT: I got it working, by enabling ACHI mode Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200736-stuck-at-apple-logo/ Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
Have you left it running with the -v option for a little while, to see if any other messages such as "Still waiting for root device" show up? That line you reported isn't a fatal error... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200736-stuck-at-apple-logo/#findComment-1350026 Share on other sites

That line you reported isn't a fatal error... Yes, "Still waiting for root device" does show up. By the way if I dont use -v I get screen like this: I tried rd=disk0 and rd=disk1 but it didn't help. "Still waiting for root device" - Means that it doesn't find my HDD right ? Lord_Jeremy
Cool, yeah ACHI does need to be enabled in most cases. @Travoky: I'm curious why you've got a PSYSTAR-related line on your system. Exactly what did you install? It sounds like you're using maybe RebelEFI? I don't know because I have never tried it myself. Travoky
i got my computer to work but, on my new computer it doesnt! if you could, do you think you could tell me what options i should select when installing ideneb? > Mainboard : Compal 30FD > Chipset : AMD 780 > Processor : AMD Turion X2 RM 74 @ 2200 MHz > Physical Memory : 4096 MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM ) > Video Card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 > Hard Disk : WDC (500 GB) > DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CT10L ATA Device > Monitor Type : LGPhilipsLCD - 17 inches > Network Card : AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCIe) > Network Card : RTL8168/8111 PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Adapter i've been trying to get this to work for months but no luck. It always seems to install fine but when i restart my computer it stays at this screen and this thing blinks in the top left hand corner forever Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200736-stuck-at-apple-logo/#findComment-1351937 Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
For future reference, you don't need to both PM me and post here. I'll get to the forum when I get a chance ;-) Anyway, like I said in the PM, you definitely need the Voodoo kernel since you've got an AMD processor. I assume you mean you've just got a black screen with a cursor in the corner. Is there anything else at all on the screen? What other screens come up before that? For instance, do you ever see the bootloader or the BIOS screen? Lord_Jeremy
I had tried voodoo with no luck. and its not a blinking cursor, its like its waiting for you to type something but you cant Huh. Have you tried booting with the install DVD in the drive? If that works, then it's likely your bootloader is messed up. Also, what install disk did you use? Did you remember to even install a bootloader? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200736-stuck-at-apple-logo/#findComment-1352336 Share on other sites

Lord_Jeremy
Heh, yeah not having a bootloader is a problem. EasyBCD is a Windows program so that shouldn't affect your OS X system. If you install it and take a look at your MBR you might be able to able to add an entry for OS X if Chameleon is installed.
