iATKOS v7 nForce 780i EVGA mobo ram speed issue

hey guys

 

So this is my first post here so I'll give you my specs and what i have installed on my system.

 

I installed iATKOS v7 on my system and after much trial and error i got all the proper drivers installed and now have an almost fully functional hackintosh. there are two small problems however (niether of which is a big problem, just a little annoying)

 

1)when looking at the About this mac Window or in System Profiler it says that my ram speed is 667 mhz when it is set at 800mhz in the BIOS. this is the bigger of the two issues.

 

and 2) the system doesn't sleep properly, it'll go to sleep but the display doesn't wake up but it sounds like the system itself wakes up.

 

so i have searched around and haven't found any solutions for my first problem and i haven't really worried about the second problem.

 

so here are my specs:

 

Motherboard: EVGA nForce 780i SLI 132-CK-NF78-A1

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @3.16 Ghz

Graphics Card:MSI ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2 (with quartz extreme enabled but only 1 core running)

ram: 2GB of Crucial Balistx Tracer

hard Drive: 500GB WB SATA

DVDR drive: i think its an older light on drive running through PATA

thank you for your reassurance. I was kind of wondering if it was just reading it wrong, but i wasn't sure. I've downloaded Geekbench and i might work on interpreting it.

I have a similar mobo and was just wondering how you were able to get both cores of your processor working. I was also able to successfully install iAtkos v7 but my only problem is that i have to use cpus=1 every time i boot.

 

So if you remember, post what options you used on install.

what kernel are you using? if i remember correctly i had to use the voodoo kernel, and the order in which I installed the drivers was tricky as well.

 

and now that i remember i wrote all of it down.

Hardware

Procedure:

iATKOS v7 - did not update

-normal Default install that it gives you plus nForce ATA, ATI Drivers, and Voodoo 9.7 kernel. NO ETHERNET DRIVERS YET.

 

let it do the install

 

download the 0.64.3 nForceLan kept from here

boot up in safe mode (-v -x) and install these drivers

 

download the ATI driver fix to enable Quartz Extreme from here

use the file given under the 4870 x2 heading

 

boot up again in safe mode

 

and follow the instructions under the 4870 x2 heading

 

reboot with -v -f and everything should be working fine.

 

i had to do it in this exact order to get everything to work properly
