Yes, I have been trying to get IPC osx86 10.5.6 to install on my dell inspiron 518

specs:

2GB raM

intel core 2 duo 2.53 ghz

ati radeon 2400 pcie

(i can post more specs if needed)

I go through a succesful install (although i dont know what chipset to use...if someone could direct me on this it would be appreciated), and when i boot into mac, it looks like its working fine then i get a blac screen and my monitor loses input. ive booted with -v -f and i got a firewire error then still waiting for root disk. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,

Can't help you about the black screen, but if you don't know what your chipset is, download CPU-Z from Here

I downloaded that and found my chipset to be: Intel p35/G33/G31. what does this equate to when i select a chipset while installing ipc?

Also another thing, if I plan on dual-booting ipc 10.5.6 and windows 7, which should I install first. My original thought was mac, but I think now i should install windows first, so when installing mac, the chameleon bootloader wont be overwritten

I reinstalled everything again, this time with windows 7 first, then mac osx. I booted the first time with the bootoptions -v -f and gotno errors. It then loaded a greyish screen which immediately faded to black. Im not sure what to make of this, is it a bad video driver or what?Note that when it fades to black, the numlock on the keyboard is lit and stays on, and the computer appears to be on, i just see no video

Alright, just to update everyone, i got it installed and working (as im currently positng from within ipc :() by not installing the ati radeon 2400 kext (no video kext was used). But i do have another problem. I managed to change the resolution by adding <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920*1200*32</string> to com.apple.Boot.plist. my problem is, that my reoslution is set to 1600*1200 and not 1920*1200. is there a max resolution im not aware of or something?
