dk5151
I installed osx86 with the goatsecx iso onto my AMD 64 3400. The install goes fine, and I boot up and get the fast scrolling white text like I should, but it stops and says there were errors. The next screen shows me this: --- panic (cpu 0 caller 0x0019cffc): commpage no match on last routine Debugger called: <panic> Backtrace, format-frame: ReturnAddress (4 potential args on stack) 0x144bbee0 : 0x128aea (ox3b9dcc 0x144bbf04 0x130c94 0x0) 0x144bbf20 : 0x19cffc (0x3bf434 0x144bbf7c 0x13000 0x0) 0x144bbfb0 : 0x1a1427 (0x135eff 0x1 0x7 0xbebf6974) 0x144bbfd4 : 0x196b69 (0x0 0xffffffff 0x4431f8 0x49b800) Backtrace terminated - invalid frame pointer 0x0 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.4.1: ... --- Any ideas? macprodan
Sounds like you need to use a Different patched Kernel or wrong install options were set, Try This. At start-up where it says, Darwin x86, Press F8. then type, without quotes "Mach_Kernel.Old". dk5151
Thank you for such a fast reply, progress is being made. I did what you said, a lot more messages popped up but it eventually booted. The screen is distorted now though (I can see the pointer fine), but I can hear the setup music/voice over setup, can't see anything to set it up however. My video card is Radeon Mobility 9600/9700. There was a patch in the install for it and I installed it. Any further suggestions? As you can tell I'm new to this. [edit] I'm going to re-install with different patches, I'll post results later.
