sringgen
I have both Gigabyte board and graphics. I have successfully installed Snow Leopard and can boot it with no boot CD, but I think I cheated.... Now I want to figure out how to get the ATI 2400 card working. What I really want to know is the file structure that Chameleon is looking for so I can get all the right files put in there. Here is how I installed everything. Found a boot CD for my motherboard. (from this forum) Booted the Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD and installed. Installed Chameleon on a different partition. Could not get SL to boot with Chameleon so here is where I cheated.... I took all the files from the boot CD for my motherboard and copied them to the chameleon partition so that they were all in the same locations as the boot CD. At this point I am able to boot from the hard drive using Chameleon and SL works good. I have sound, ethernet, etc, but I still can't change the resolution on the ATI card. Does anyone have this board/graphics card combination? I think I have all the correct kexts but I have no luck with creating my own plist files and smbios files. What I really need is an explanation for where files should be stored on the chameleon drive and what all needs to be there. TIA! I have only kexts and com.apple.boot.plist, etc. files on the chameleon boot partition. I no longer have the cdboot and preboot.dmg files on that partition. Now can someone please help me get the ATI 2400 Card working? I attached my files that are on the chameleon boot partition if that helps. sringgen
OK, I put the ATI2400Controller.kext from S/L/E directory into the extensions folder on my Chameleon partition and now my screen resolution is 1400x1050!!! Also in "about this mac" it says ATI HD 2400 for my graphics card. In system, preferences, display, there is only the 1 resolution listed. How do you go about changing resolution on a Mac? I am very new to all of this and have no clue.
