i've tried getting os x installed so many ways now i can't even count the ways. I used to have a perfectly working install of 10.5 when it first came out but i have since wiped that hard drive.

i first tried installing 10.5.8 via a ideneb disk, then 10.5.7 via an iatkos disk however both of those freeze while installing.

then i tried installing 10.6 using a guide on this forum which uses a bootcd however as soon as i boot up the snow leopard install using the bootcd, i just get a black screen which is apparantly due to my nvidia gtx 260

finally i tried using the life hacker guide and installing via a usb stick. with this method, the installer starts booting but then i get the spinning wheel of death.

any advice on how to get either the bootcd method or the lifehacker method working?

hardware:

ga-p35-ds3p

nvidia gtx 260 core 216

4gb ram

sata pioneer dvd-r

120gb sata hard drive

thanks!
