I have got Kalyway Leopard running on my PC, with the wrong resolution but still usable

I am really struggling to get Snow Leopard onto the machine, I think it may be the video card (4670)

Any advice?

Thanks :D

try this method to install snow http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=191179

re video 4670? ati ?

Do a search & see if anyone has had success with that card. Is this a desktop, laptop? you don't say. If your card not supported, is another card an option

If answer is no & no, probably no point

It is a desktop PC and the video card is an ATI 4670, the search seems to give mixed feedback

to my knowledge the 4670 is not supported yet and probably will never be.

the new iMac contains a mobile version of this card so the available drivers wont fit for the pcie version of it.

ive got the same card and ordered a 4870 after several evenings of reading

Mixed feedback, means somebody has it working??

Anyway you have the option of installing a compatible card if you can't get it to work

Another thing IMHO 2 gig of ram is minimum for Snow

Thanks Stream there is his answer, needs another video card

Cool, sorry I think it will be more helpful if I gave full details

My system is a P5E running: Western Digital SATA HDDs, 8GB DDR 2 Corsair Ram, QX9650 Intel Quad, Radeon 4670.

Other options I have is to revert to my old Radeon X600 which is really old now.

By mixed comments I meant most people have had it working with Leopard

here you can read it yourself

its the most recent source about radeon 4xxx support, just search for 4670

The rest of your system looks ok

Just searched here, there wasn't many hits at all.

I have now changed the video card and have got one step further, I have loaded past the loader page but it seems to be stuck on the rainbow cursor turning

There is a definitive statement of the maintainer of those patched drivers, there are no other drivers available, ought be enough info.

However, what about some more info? Just start OSX in verbose mode and give us some error messages, without i doubt anyone can help you. Have you already tried starting in safe mode?
