cart16
I am wondering what type of motherboard, video card, optical drive, and ram would be the most compatible and run the best with snow leopard without patches for the most part. I want to build a hackintosh running snow leopard that will rip and convert dvds fairly fast, run windows 7 in fusion quickly, and do some light video editing and word processing for school. I also want to be able to run my hd tv as a second monitor via s-video or hdmi (no vga ports on the tv). The main reason I a want to go with a core i5 and not a core 2 quad or core 2 duo is to be future proof for at least a little while. I have a junk p4 running 10.5.8 so I am not entirely new to the scene Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199631-core-i5-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
TomCom
Any Sata DVD drive will be fine. Same thing for HDD, but Seagate's Barracudas 7200.12 500GB or 1TB are the best choice at the moment. For the mobo, you should read this thread, at least the first page and the few last ones: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=176155 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/199631-core-i5-hackintosh/#findComment-1343617 Share on other sites
