huesotravieso
Hi all, Trying to install iDeneb 10.5.6 on an Ahtec Sense (is the MSI1722 barebone) with no success at all. HW specs: Chipset - Intel® PM45 + ICH9-M Graphics - NVIDIA® Geforce 9600M-GT 512MB RAM - 4GB DDR2 800 SO-DIMM NIC - Realtek 8111C Gigabit LAN Audio - Realtek ALC888S Full specs here: http://www.msiwhitebook.com/product_spec.a...del=MS-1722-ID1 I have already tried some install configurations (cpu=1, etc) all of them with the same result. Booting with -v reads: MAC Framework successfully initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers The computer hangs. No matter what I try or do, I can't get it to work but I read in posts that people is able to make it work. Can please someone throw some light? Thanks in advance!!! mmiker
I have a successful installation on MS-1722 GX720 with Geforce 9600M, Atheros 5008(geniune Apple Airport) wireless card using iAtkos version 7. It is pretty straightforward. In a BIOS disable AHCI(if you using Win XP on other partition). SpeedStep can be enabled. Just load iAtkos, do not choose Video drivers during installation. We will use original drivers. Choose: Qoopz 9.7 kernel, Intel ICH fix, SATA drivers ( if AHCI disabled), PS2/ keyboard/ trackpad drivers, VoodooHDA for Audio driver. Battery Management. Once it is installed, activate a video card as it described at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t131914.html but you do not need to download kexts, since they are already there in place. In order to modify Info.plist in a kexts, simply copy them from /System/Library/Extentions to accessible folder, point on kext, right mouse click and choose "Show Package Contents". Once it appeared, just go to "Contents" directory and open Info.plist file using TextEdit, add necessary strings, close and save. After this install this kext using KextHelper application. Usually you have to add your video card device id (0xXXXX) to NVDANV50Hal.kext string property and it should look like <string> 0x00f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x019010de&0xfff0ffff 0x040010de&0xfff0ffff 0x042010de&0xfff0ffff 0x06e010de&0xfff0ffff 0x060010de&0xffe0ffff 0x062010de&0xffe0ffff 0x064010de&0xffe0ffff 0x086010de&0xffe0ffff 0xXXXX10de&0xffe0ffff </string> and add 0xXXXX10de& to NVDAResman.kext Info.plist string property as well. After this modifications, modify GFI String, using osx86 tool, how it described in a screenshots from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t131914.html reboot computer and you are ready to go. iAtkos does allow to do a real updates and version upgrades, since this version is close to retail. After installation, run fix permissions using disk utility, and you can update your kernel to version 10.5.8 using mac live update and it is ready to go. One problem still persists with audio HDA driver. It shows separate speakers for subwoofers and real speakers and plays them separately. But, using headphone as an output, you can listen a mixed stereo how it supposed to be. Internal microphone and video cam are also working. After updating using mac update to 10.5.8 System Profiler shows correct info about memory, processor and etc. Have a Great Day and Good Luck.
