Hi All,

I upgraded my Leopard 10.5.8 box to the following software versions: Safari 4.0.4, Quicktime 7.6.4, and iTunes 9.0.2.

From within iTunes 9.0.2 everything appears to function correctly with one main exception:

The 30 second song / track preview functionality no longer works.

Interestingly, Movie previews work perfectly, and also online radio stations stream perfectly.

I'm seeing the following entries in the system/console log:

[0x0-0x13013].com.apple.iTunes iTunes <Error>: doClip: empty path.

I downgraded back to iTunes 8.0.2 (keeping Safari and QuickTime at the latest versions above), and found the song preview functionality in this release works perfectly.

I also tried in 9.0.2 changing the buffer size in Preferences > Advanced to large; this made no difference.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Or is anyone running 10.5.8 and not seeing this issue?

My installation is essentially stock - having leveraged ipc 10.5.6, followed by iDeneb 10.5.8.

My signature contains kernel version etc. One kext i did replace was the AppleVADriver.bundle so as to get a version more suited for SSE2 processor to prevent dvd playback issues.

cheers.

I am also having a problem with my 30 second preview. However, I am using a PC that is operating Windows 7.

The movies preview fine, as well as radio, but the music seemingly stopped previewing overnight about a week ago.

Have you found a solution?
