barryg
Hi all, Having a bit of trouble with my sound on VMWare, OS X 10.5.2 pcwiz version. Loading the OS is absolutely fine, and moving the slider for the sound next to the clock results in the blip sound as I'm changing it (louder and quieter depending on the position). However, loading into Garageband or just clicking System Prefs >> Sound brings up the message "The Default Sound Device cannot be opened: A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system. Failed to connect virtual sound device". I've got an MSI x58 Pro-E so onboard HD Audio - and my device ID's seems to be 10EC:0889. Any ideas on a route forward? Separate issue, I'm on 10.5.2 because if I attempt to install the 10.5.8 in software update, it does a CPU reset cycle on next restart and I have to reload an older snapshot (I think pcwiz says something about a time machine update included in it that kills it?)
