hello, so i have finally been able to install snow leopard but have an issue. i followed macinized guide to install here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183751 and also used this guide for my MB:http://doctorevil30564.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

heres the problem when i restart i get a kernal panic. chameleon says error starting up computer pause 5 seconds and bam.......but i booted by using the flag arch=i386 and it boots! is there anyway too get this to stop doing this?

i realize it has something to do with com.apple.boot.plist not having the string for it.. but i checked and this is mine

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>mach_kernel</string>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>arch=i386</string>

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>5</string>

</dict>

</plist>

i have placed it at the root of my hard drive...sorry for the long post but i have been messing with this for hrs and no luck thank you in advance!!!!!

Doesn't have to be in the extra folder?

Hi,

Did you install the bootloader on the EFI partition? If you did, the extra folder is there.

Good luck,

Comodin.

Hi,

Just answer "no" to the first question (Do you want to setup MacLoader in the EFI-partition?) and install the bootloader on your "Macintosh HD". Then you will be able to modify your com.apple.boot.plist file.

Comodin.

Hi,

This is what you have to do:

1. Copy the com.apple.Boot.plist to your desktop.

2. Edit it, and the the "arch=i386" string.

3. Drag and drop the desktop file to the extra folder.

4. Autenticate it.

If it does not work it's because the macloader is still booting from your EFI partition, you have to re install your system and install the bootloader directly to your "macintosh hd".

Good luck,

Comodin.
