not the Acer Aspire One d250. 10.5.8 works (ideneb) but no ethernet no wifi out of the box. No vanilla kernel and its still a little glitchy. I think Dell mini 10s are probably the best but I would like to know the answer to whats best too.

Hello everyone, I was going to ask the same question, as both my pc broke down at the same time, and I need an economic pc while thy both get repaired.

As far as I know dell mini 10v is the best solution at the moment, as it can run 10.6.2. Can anyone confirm this statement???

Thanks to all!

Thanks for the answer but as you said this table is too old; the scene has chan ged a lot form july!

Sadly the OS X friendly netbook segment hasn't.

Probably the best 2 supported models are the Dell Mini 9 and mini 10v.

Both have full working wireless and wired ethernet, audio and video.

Plus they have an excellent support site @ http://www.mydellmini.com/

If you are looking to buy a netbook to specifically run OS X on, it would be

difficult to do better than either of those 2 models.

You can currently snag the Vostro A90 (all black version of the mini 9) from Dell for $184. Had 8 gig SSD and bluetooth.

Let's say that, if by chance I can obtain a full functional mini machintosh, that would be really nice! I really need a small pc right now, and even if I would pay more to get a dell, it would be delivered more than 2 weeks from now! (And in Italy we don't have a dell-outlet as in America or uk). Actually I'm following the discussion over the eepc 1005ha, I hope that it evolves in something!

Just as an update, I received a Dell mini 10v today as a birthday present from girlfriend.

Just installed Leopard and running the 10.5.8 combo update. Only trouble was I had to downgrade the bios

from A06 to A04.

Neat little machine. Will have to tinker with it some more tomorrow...get all my apps installed and such.

Was wondering, why haven't you gone with the snow leopard installation? It works better with leopard?

To be honest, I am running Leopard on all my machines still because I haven't seen much a need to move up to SL yet.

Whilst SL works fine on the mini 10v, I personally think Leopard is a little better supported. SL still has some growing pains going on and with system updates that could break compatibility at any time, I just don't see a need to move to it. Where as Leopard support is pretty much polished and nearly bullet proof.

But, I'll probably move my desktop Quad box over to SL sometime in the near future.

Also, I get around two to two and half hours runtime from the mini 10v and the stock 3 cell battery. I have read several reports of folks getting 5 + hours from the 6 cell pack. Course wifi on and screen brightness heavily effect this. Surprisingly the stock 1 gigabyte of ram actually works great with Leopard. I thought for sure it would drag, but its pretty snappy.

I Have to admit, I couldn't resist buying a mini 10v; It should be delivered by 10th december, I hope all the hackintosh installation goes as painless as I hope...
