hi guys. i have acer aspire 3690. its a craptop, so i wanted to instal iatkos 5i on it. i did it succesfully, but there was a problem - ethernet (broadcom 440x) didnt work. i reinstal it twice. still nothing even doing diffrent combinations with customizing while installation. so i fail, and i wanted to go back to f*cked up windows (im gonna by mac :>). but here's a problem - i erase disc with ms-dos (FAT) combination in disc utility, restart with putting cd with win xp to drive but i had this strange words written: "boot0: MBR boot0: done non-system disc press any key to reboot". i checked booting options in bios, tried to erase once again in disc utility with option not mac ox journaled, but ms-dos. im stuck. have no idea what to do next. any links, ideas, words that will make me feel better?

Had the same problem with the Acer Aspire 3680 I tried to put Kalyway 10.5.2 on. Some what.. It was working, just not Internet (wireless or ethernet) and I had mouse artifacts.

Eventually I tried something I found on here that just bricked it and made Kalyway not want to re-install and then I went to windows.. Got some weird error about the disc with the win xp disc and gave up. Now I run Ubuntu on this laptop, works pretty well.

Not saying you didn't try this. But, I got a very successful install of iDeneb on a Dell Dimension 4700. Took a few tries, but going to Dell's site and putting in the service number (that was custom to the computer) helped me narrow down drivers to use and luckily iDeneb had all of them. So maybe try that if you didn't.

You could try using the Ubuntu Disc Partitianer, it seems that did a better job completely reformatting the Hard drive on this laptop than the osx disk utility..
