[HELP] SL on Asus Striker II Formula Hangs with 4 cores enabled

Hi guys,

 

after reading tons of guides, I'm still at loss. Unfortunately search on this site is rather unusable and googling this site provided no information about my issue that could resolve it.

 

I have a "old" PC with following specs:

Asus Striker II Forumula (Latest BIOS 2201)

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz

Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-800 1GB Memory Kit x4

XFX Geforce 8800GTS 512Mb RAM

Seagate Barracuda SATA 500 Gb Drive + 1 Additional for storage - same brand 1.5 Tb

 

I installed SL using Lifehacker's guide, and I know it probably never works on anything other that Gigabyte motherboards, but I "successfully" installed SL.

 

Problems:

- On board audio does not work - not a problem since I don't use it

- Network does not work - not a problem, since this will be my DAW

 

The main issue is that I cannot get all 4 cores working. When using cpus=1, system works like a charm, but if booting without that switch, system randomly freezes.

 

I'm booting Chameleon RC3 with arch=i386. I also tried EFI 10.5 with -x32 - result was the same.

I've patched my DSDT but I had to use -f to create it.
