I'm trying a modified version of the Lifehacker method. I made a backup image of my retail install DVD and applied it to my 8GB USB pen drive. Then I installed Chameleon RC3 to the USB drive (the copy succeeded without any errors), and tried to boot. On my first boot, I didn't set any flags. I saw the nice Apple boot screen, but the gray spinwheel didn't show up. I waited for about a minute, but my pen drive wasn't active (the flashing green LED wasn't blinking, indicating no activity). I started with -v to see what was happening, but after the first few lines, the screen went black. Then I started it up with -v -x platform=x86_32. It got a little farther, but after around a minute, the long lines of code stopped, my computer pulled a hard reboot. I also tried -v -x platform=x86_32 usbbusfix=yes but got the same result.
