Ok, recently, I downloaded iAktos 5i, then burned the iso image to a DVD+R disk. Threw the disk in, booted the laptop, but NO prompt or anything happened, just straight to Windows...

I'm starting to think my torrent is fake...

Also, I know I have to mess with the bios, but I can only go to "bios setup", not "bios setup utility", so I can't modify the bios as the pictures are shown on lifehacker (if that made sense?)

Thanks!

Edit: Wait, I just put the iso image on the disk, was I FIRST supposed to extract the iso, then burn those files??

You only extract it if its zipped with either winrar or winzip. Other than that,,,just burn the iso as an image. I like Alcohol 120%. It works well.

Ok, let me get this straight, the iso is downloaded right now. The iso is extractable, so when it is extracted, put THOSE files on the disk, but not the iso itself correct?

You see, what I did was burn the iso image on the disk without extracting it, was that the problem?

Also, the OSX retail disk IS NOT needed right?

If that's the case, which I did burn the iso image, then the torrent was FAKE!!! :):D:D

Ok, it turns out that my iAtkos IS NOT fake because I ran it in Vmware Workstation, and it sort of worked!

But as I researched more, in order for my disk to even load, AHCI must be enabled. Well, I'm losing hope since my BIOS doesn't give AHCI options.

I'm I done for now?

Hey guys!

I was wondering, I came across a program called Unetbootin that could install an iso. I was hoping it would install it on a partition I made (E:\) but it only gives a hardisk option on my C:\! Will this mean that if I choose the C drive that it will overwrite my Windows? Also, I can't do the USB option beacuse I only have a USB that's 1GB with important files.

Any insight?

Thanks again!
