ChasMann
I just installed OSX using the most recent patched iDeneb installer. My biggest problem is that I cannot get the Ethernet or Wireless cards working. Sound either but that is less of a priority. I found a kext file that supposedly works with my Ethernet card but I am unable to get the Kext installer to install the file. It just says that my root password failed. I tried using command prompts and same thing. I know my password, and that is certainly not the issue. I have even reinstalled using a simpler password with no luck. Any idea? Lord_Jeremy
Interesting. In Terminal, try typing "sudo whoami" [ENTER] and then your login password (I'm assuming your login account is an administrator). It might ask you to confirm that you're not doing anything stupid. After that it should just print back "root". Have you enabled the root account and set a root password? If so, you should also be able to type "su" [ENTER] and your root password in Terminal. Then you can type "whoami" [ENTER] and again just get back "root". I'm not sure if iDeneb has a root password set by default, I'm hoping not. If you go into the Directory Utility in your Utilities folder and click the lock to enter your login password, you can check if root is enabled in the Edit menu.
