c0rrupts3ct0r
I tried installing Snow Leopard on a Spartan Laptop. I use the rebel EFI boot disc then put in the SL disc then i get a KP saying something before it happening "Secondary IDE Channel Disabled" I took out the IDE DVDRW but that does not help. i am installing through a USB-SATA controller to a SATA DVDRW. i have read this problem is because i dont have the proper driver for my IDE dvd drive in my laptop. i am using the Snow Leopard retail DVD to install core 2 duo t7500 Intel PM965 Chipset. ( has AHCI, no RAID) 4GB of DDR2 667 (2x2) Nvidia 8600 GT 512MB dedicated graphics card 500GB WD Scorpio blue series hdd (AHCI mode) IDE DVDRW Realtek ALC888 sound camera card reader this is a MSI GX700 laptop basically. I read you can replace the PIIXATA kext with a patched one but how do i do that to the DVD so it will go past this kernel panic and start the installation? Leopard 10.5.8 works fine on here however.. Any help? Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197995-need-help-installing-snow-leopard-on-spartan-laptop/ Share on other sites
