osX86 Snow
Hey everyone, complete noob to osx86 here This is my first post, looks like a great forum. To the point, I have a homebuilt pc that I want to install osx86 on. It has an asus p5gx-mx/1333 mobo with no cards, SATA hd, ide burner. It says this is supported in the os86 site. I bought the 10.6 dvd and started looking for tutorials. I tried several, mostly using my 8gb usb stick. Some gave the mac you need to restart, then one went through the entire install then said failed to set Snow HD to startup disk, restart installer. Or something to that effect. It seems like it installs but then it wont boot. Is there any easy installation you could suggest? Thanks for all the help Cheers, Will Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197966-install-snow-leopard-asus/ Share on other sites
osX86 Snow
Ok now, thanks to the automator script, I have Snow leopard installed on my machine. I have a few problems with it (of course) that I couldn't figure out, thanks in advance for all the help. 1. The CPU (e4500 core2 duo 64) is only showing as a core2 solo in the finder. 2. The RAM (2gb DDR2 667mhz) is registering as DDR3 1600mhz. Is the apparent over clocking bad for the memory? 3. Audio fixed with VoodooHDA and or Azalia Audio kexts 4. Attsantic L2 LAN, kext installed with Kext Helper, not working 5. Intel GMA650 video not working, kext installed, video stuck at 1024x768x32 with 64mb mem. Should be 1440x900x32 with 256mb memory 6. Sleep not working, S3 set in BIOS, jumper moved. Just stops HD Thats all for now, the video and LAN kexts not showing in profiler.
