Hi guys i have this problem after starting to install from DVD with -v option :

And it just stopps in this moment. When i press any key the computer restarts.

My system:

Athlon 64 3000+

3gb ram

nvidia 7900gs

mb  Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G v1

I had hackintosh on this system before with no problem at all, then i stopped using it and lately as i want to start editing video in final cut and using Logic Pro i have decided to install mac os again. And here strange thing happened (look at the picture above). I have tried with 3 different distros (iPC, Atkos, ...) and all act the same.

Do you know the reason for this by any chance?

With regards

hey, as I mentioned in someone else's post, I'm getting the same issue with my compaq laptop. In my case, I think it may have to do with the BIOS and the lack of options to configure. In your case, I'm not sure. If you do figure it out, please pm me to let me know what you did.

@DNA,

I can't comment specifically because I'm new in general and any experience I do have is on P4 intel systems. However, I had similar problems on an Asus mobo and just figured them out late last night. I don't know if the following will help, but if you're stuck, try it.

I'm speculating enormously, but I figure when a hang/kernel panic happens this early on, it likely has to do with something low-level like BIOS or mobo issues. I had success by turning off RAID and adjusting the graphics aperture settings in my BIOS to a lower value. Also, for some reason iDeneb 1.4 would run even when my settings were bad, it seems to be more versatile for some reason. I'm going to post the work in progress for my Asus mobo issues later today once I test it more thoroughly if you are interested.

I hope that helps some. Hopefully someone with more experience will take an interest in this post.

 Unfortunately i had no success with goofing with BIOS settings. Same effect. I've lovered or disabled everything i knew about. Maybe its about BIOS options that i dont want to mess with (i dont know what they are responsible for).

Only one thing in my system changed since ive had mac osx on it last time. Ive updated BIOS. But then recently ive downgradet it and issue is still here :/ .

Sorry, I'm not sure what else to suggest. Can you specify which kernel the install DVD boots in by pressing F8? I think default is voodoo, maybe you need something else? Search around for which one AMD uses and see if that might help. I think you specify by just typing the kernel name eg "voodoo" or "voodoo -v" if you want verbose output.
