numberonekiwi
I need some help I have currently leopard 10.5.7 and am trying to install SL10.6 on another drive the problem I am getting is ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out I am using latest chameleon and made a dsdt.aml file from leopard got the cmos reset bug so read more and fixed that problem also discovered that sata drives need to be in AHCI mode I get this error on both the startup install disk copied to a partition of 2nd hard drive the other partition is where SL is installed as I could not boot into the install disk I opened osxinstall.mpkg and selected the drive from there . Once that was done I copied the extra/extensions stuff over but thats when I noticed other issues there are no permisions set ie if I type chown -R root:wheel /volumes/system/library/extensions/(filename) and chmod -755 command they dont change so I am thinking that may be the issue are there new commands to change ownership in SL is it due to my install method? be greatly appreciated for some help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197507-sl-not-booting/ Share on other sites
numberonekiwi
I think it may have something to do with my grafix card eah2600xt or loginwindow.app I boot using -v flag so I can see whats happening once the HD / DVD / USB stops loading ( I have tried all 3 ) and press the enter key ( what I believe is select language screen ) I get more disk activity so it may be one of the above I will look for a method to put ATI related kexts into /Extra/Extensions Does anyone know if that will help ?
