Hey guys! First post, so please excuse my naivety on the subject of installing OSX on a PC.

Here are my computer stats:

Alienware M17x Laptop

Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 @ 2.00GHz

Current OS: Windows 7 (6.1.7600)

BIOS Version/Date: Alienware A02, 21/08/2009

Physical Memory: 4.00 GB @ 1333MHz

Native Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 @ 256 MB RAM

Dedicated Video Cards: 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M SLI @ 1.00 GB each (2.00 GB total)

Sound Device: IDT High Definition Audio

Network Adapter: Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter

Is this enough information for anyone to let me know if I can successfully use one of the many OSX ports out there?

Thanks a lot in advance. ;)

Well I am currently running osx on my alienware m17x. I am just faced with a few problems at the moment. I am working on fixing the sound. The touchpad doesn't work but that doesnt bother much since i use a usb mouse anyway. Only three half my usb ports run. and small other details. in order to install and work through it you will need a usb mouse and keyboard until you install the voodoo ps2 drivers for your keyboard. To install i followed this guide http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow...acking-required except that i didn't change anything in the bios and i still havent gotten the sound running. In general i think it runs well. Just have to figure out some small tweaks on it before I'm done. I am currently using it with the adobe cs4 master collection which a friend gave me for free for mac and it runs perfectly. So hopefully things go as well for you.
