DanMcQ
I apologize in advance for my ignorance; I'm quite new to OSX as well as VMWare. I am able to successfully boot into the snow leopard installer, but when I get the option to "Select disk where you want to install" the field is empty and I am unable to continue. Is there something additional I must do with the creation of the virtual disk? VMX File is as follows: .encoding = "UTF-8" config.version = "8" virtualHW.version = "7" maxvcpus = "4" scsi0.present = "TRUE" scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic" scsi1.present = "TRUE" scsi1.virtualDev = "lsilogic" memsize = "1024" scsi0:0.present = "TRUE" scsi0:0.fileName = "C:\Virtual\MacOSX.vmdk" scsi1:0.present = "TRUE" scsi1:0.autodetect = "TRUE" scsi1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-image" ethernet0.present = "TRUE" ethernet0.connectionType = "nat" ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000" ethernet0.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE" ethernet0.addressType = "generated" usb.present = "TRUE" ehci.present = "TRUE" pciBridge0.present = "TRUE" pciBridge4.present = "TRUE" pciBridge4.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort" pciBridge4.functions = "8" pciBridge5.present = "TRUE" pciBridge5.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort" pciBridge5.functions = "8" pciBridge6.present = "TRUE" pciBridge6.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort" pciBridge6.functions = "8" pciBridge7.present = "TRUE" pciBridge7.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort" pciBridge7.functions = "8" sound.present = "TRUE" sound.fileName = "-1" sound.autodetect = "TRUE" vmci0.present = "TRUE" smc.present = "TRUE" ich7m.present = "TRUE" roamingVM.exitBehavior = "go" tools.syncTime = "TRUE" displayName = "Mac OS X 10.6" guestOS = "darwin10-64" nvram = "MacOSX.nvram" virtualHW.productCompatibility = "hosted" keyboardAndMouseProfile = "macProfile" proxyApps.publishToHost = "FALSE" tools.upgrade.policy = "upgradeAtPowerCycle" powerType.powerOff = "soft" powerType.powerOn = "soft" powerType.suspend = "soft" powerType.reset = "soft" extendedConfigFile = "MacOSX.vmxf" scsi1:0.fileName = "D:\Downloads\darwin.iso" ethernet0.generatedAddress = "00:0c:29:e2:bc:f5" uuid.location = "56 4d ab 06 31 30 d4 21-27 65 1d 5e 4b e2 bc f5" uuid.bios = "56 4d ab 06 31 30 d4 21-27 65 1d 5e 4b e2 bc f5" cleanShutdown = "TRUE" replay.supported = "TRUE" replay.filename = "" scsi0:0.redo = "" pciBridge0.pciSlotNumber = "17" pciBridge4.pciSlotNumber = "21" pciBridge5.pciSlotNumber = "22" pciBridge6.pciSlotNumber = "23" pciBridge7.pciSlotNumber = "24" scsi0.pciSlotNumber = "16" scsi1.pciSlotNumber = "32" usb.pciSlotNumber = "33" ethernet0.pciSlotNumber = "34" sound.pciSlotNumber = "35" ehci.pciSlotNumber = "36" vmci0.pciSlotNumber = "37" vmotion.checkpointFBSize = "16777216" usb:0.present = "TRUE" usb:1.present = "TRUE" ethernet0.generatedAddressOffset = "0" vmci0.id = "1273150709" usb:1.deviceType = "hub" usb:0.deviceType = "mouse" scsi0:1.present = "FALSE" scsi0:2.present = "FALSE" ide0:0.present = "FALSE" floppy0.present = "FALSE" Solved this issue by going to the 'Utility' menu on the first screen of the installer, and from there 'Disk Utility' where I was able to format the virtual disk.
