Vanilla Snow install - Page fault KPs ! Help please

I get into Snow desktop and there is a varying amount of time - sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 2 minutes - and then I get a Page Fault KP type 14, Error 0x000000002.

 

Can someone tell me what permissions I need to repair?

 

I have 10.5.8 working on drive 'OSX'

and 10.6 on drive 'Data3'

 

Can I be in the 10.5.8 environment to repair the permission on the Snow install?

 

Do I need to repair permissions on kexts or extension directory?

 

I'd really appreciate an answer

 

Just to add, I was able to go into Software Update and check the 10.6.2 availability, so my ethernet/lan is working.
