mmacisaac
I have had success installing iPC (iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final)) on an HP Pavilion a250n with an ASUS P4SD-LA motherboard. I've been able to successfully install the OS, however, upon reboot, I'm not getting the hard drive (a Serial ATA drive) as an option when booting with the install DVD, and if not booting from the DVD, the system does not see the hard drive as a boot device. I've performed 2 installs - one where I've included SATA chipset drivers and another where I have not. It just seems like the hard drive is not being recognized as a bootable device. Any advice anyone may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! root!
Hi everyone, I have the same problem as you, the install was succesfull, but when I restart my computer I can't see the hard drive. I tried to install the last version of Chamelon (2.0 RC) but the bootloader still doesn't load (my computer doesn't restart, it just tells me I don't have any bootable device). btw i followed this tutorial: http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2009/04/leopa...on-your-pc.html Thank you for your help everyone EDIT: my config: Intel dual core, Asus P5Q SE, I installed the minimum drivers (chispet, graphic card, cpus=1 fix) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197008-ipc-successful-install-but-no-option-to-boot-hd-on-restart/#findComment-1327382 Share on other sites
root!
Finally found the answer Be sure to use a GUID when you format your hd during the installation. Now I can boot from my hard drive. mmacisaac
Finally found the answer Be sure to use a GUID when you format your hd during the installation. Now I can boot from my hard drive. See ya That's awesome, but unfortunately I did format with GUID during the install. Can you tell me what options you chose to customize during the install? Thanks. root!
Can you boot on your hd now? Now I have another problem, I have a known message error with the ACPI (a time out). I'm trying to fix the problem reading other forums, cause the ACPI fix doesn't seem to work (the install fail). Anyway if you want to know the options I chose: ACPI fix, cpus=1 fix, chipset ICH10, and for the video card I still don't know if the driver I chose is working. See ya.
