jojocommi
Hi Guys, I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask my question but I am at a loss with my situation. I have snow leopard 10.6.1 installed and running thanks to Digital Dreamer's and the community's help. I have almost everything running perfectly except for two key features. I do not know how to make the ethernet work. I checked online and know that I have two realtek 8111D cards/chips and am using the realtek 1000kext but it does not work for me. I tried reading other posts discussing similar issues but nothing seemed to make sense to me. Now there is a discussion about how the ifconfig method works along with a packaged snowR1000 and I tried the installer and the ifonfig but still nothing. Of course I have little idea as to what I am doing but either way these kexts are not working for me. Strangely enough I have wireless working with the RAlink wireless utility but at times it gets laggy and I tend to lose connection randomly. This is the reason why I would like to have ethernet. I never really wanted bonjour until I needed to use my phone and printer which the printer is detected but cannot print wirelessly. I am using a Linksys WRT610N Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router. Could anyone provide some insightful advice/suggestions as to what I should do and keep in mind that I am still a noob so please explain in detail. Also before anyone asks about x32 and x64, I assume I am running x64 and do not know how to run in x32. Look at my signature for my hardware info. I included my boot cache log just incase it helps Thanks. bootcachelog.rtf Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196989-noob-help-with-ethernet-realtek-8111d-and-bonjour/ Share on other sites
