vetsen
Do you know how to boot in verbose mode? When you first boot from the DVD you will see a boot-loader screen. It will say something like press F8 for options. Do this. then type "-v" a bunch of text will fly up the screen and you can better see where the system is having issues. Report back with your findings. You might try "-v -f CPUS=1" or just "-v -f" Vetsen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196986-help-intalling-on-hp-pavilion-zv5000/#findComment-1326840 Share on other sites
NZMikey
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Not to sure what you want from the verbos mode, but i will type up the last couple of lines: USBF: 2.336 AppleUSBOHC I [0x2107800]: :CheckSleepCapability - Controller will be unlocked across sleep. USBF: 2.390 AppleUSBOHC I [0x21d2800]: :CheckSleepCapability - Controller will be unlocked across sleep. USBF: 2.390 AppleUSBOHC I [0x21c7000]: :CheckSleepCapability - Controller will be unlocked across sleep. Extension "com.apple.driver.iTunesPhoneDriver" has no explicit kernel dependency: Using version 6.0 Still waiting for root device That is the last few lines of -v mode. Is that what you were after? OR is there something else i need to post up to find the problem? Thanks. NZMikey
I think i found the problem. I read somewhere that someone else was having the same problem as me witht he same laptop, and that the fix was to use an external DvD drive. So i tried it, and the disc booted up. Now i just have to reformat my HDD and install. I am getting an error for the disc though, saying i have to clean it. Not sure if this is an issue or not.
