After spending the past couple of days of trial and error, I am finally able to boot up ideneb's 1.6 10.5.8 under VMWare Workstation 7.

In order to do this, the install disc needs to be in the tray, and while booting, hit F8 for a boot prompt. At the prompt, I have to enter:

-v rd=disk0s2 busratio=20

each time I want to boot into the OS.

I've tried osx86 tools to change the bootflags, including the above flags, but it does not seem to work, and it goes to kernel panic as if I tried to boot without any flags at all.

I have 2 questions:

1. How to boot into the OS without need of the install disc under VMWare.

2. How to use osx86tools properly, so that I do not need to enter the boot flags upon boot every time.

Thanks for any/all input. :)
