entos
Im trying to install OSx86 10.4.5 on an AMD 64 3500+ onto a single PATA disk with nothing else on it. I want darwin (or whatever the mac boot loader is called) to install itself into the MBR of that disk (disk 0). All (or better said most) the posts here reffer to dual booting with winXP... Is there any way to run OSx as the only OS? I mean, Im sure there is, I just dont know how to get the boot loader on place because the installer doesnt seem to do that... I have disk with only one primary partition (id=af) on which im installing OSx, everything runs fine (installing from a burnt cd) but then i get a hfs+ error... strange Any suggestions? (btw, where is the search function on these forums ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19623-single-boot/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
For Search, hover your cursor over the black Forum button at the top. A drop down menu with Search will appear. Search for native boot. That is how single boot is referenced in many threads. Here is one method to get rid of the HFS+ partition error: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...ny_times_before.
