I'm trying to install iPC OSx86 Universal 10.5.6 on my system, but I get a "waiting for root device..." immediately after boot option selection. I suspect that because my system has SATA support (though I'm using an IDE hard drive and IDE dvd drive) that the installer is loading a SATA driver and therefore not reading my IDE DVD drive. Is this possible?

Boot options: "-v maxmem=2048 busratio=155 cpus=1 busratiopath=0 fsb=200000000"

I've tried specifying the DVD drive with 'rd=disk111s0' but it has no effect.

Line containing AppleVIAATADriver: "AppleVIAATADriver: VIA 8237 SATA"

My system:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor

Motherboard: A780GMH/128M

NB: AMD 780G

SB: ATI SB750

Memory: 4096 MB DDR2

Hard drive: IC35L120AVV207-1 (IDE)

DVD Drive: GH22NP20 (IDE)

Jumper Settings: (Only one IDE connector)

I've tried DVD as master and hard drive as slave and vice-versa. No luck.

I haven't modified anything on the disc, I just downloaded the image and burned it. I've also used this CD to install to another PC, so I think the copy is fine.

Thanks!
