Hello;

I'm trying to get snow working on my eeebox, but i've had a few problems so i'm opening this thread and the aim is to have a How to at the end

There are the problems:

-Issues with graphics

-Sleep

-Reboot

I've tried so many "kexts packs" that i couldn't tell witch one made what working.

Do you reckon it is better to install chameleon on an EFI partition? Or on the boot drive?

Do you guys have tips for witch kexts to choose?

I'm currently finishing an other installation, i think i'll try the Netbook installer as i never tried before.

I'm open to any suggestion.

Thanks

what works:

-Boot

-Eternet

What doesn't (yet):

-ShutDown ( i get a KP)

-Reboot (stucked after login out)

-Sleep

-Graphics don't have the right kexts, i tried the one i used for my Wind, and others but kexts don't load.

Can't find the drivers for the wifi (AzureWave AW-NE766 802.11 b/g/n (RaLink))

EFI partition with kexts in very enoying when you don't know what kext to use.

Every time i run an Chameleon pkg, i get an error and it doesn't install.

What should i do?

I installed the "modded" chameleon i used to make my usb stick bootable:

As a result can't boot anymore...

It's driving me crazy it might be my 15th install!

I'll fix this bootloader issue later, i managed get around it by installing it on a stick and booting from it.

UPDATE: Fixed

-Shutdown

-Reboot

  • 3 weeks later...

I was able to install snow leopard and found a way to fix all problems. I got a fully working EeeMac:

- sleep

- reboot after sleep

- fast shutdown and restart (there was a problem with usb in dsdt)

- video

- sound (front & rear)

- powerbutton for seep/restart/shutdown menu and wakeup from sleep

- "2 cores"

- Time Machine

Im testing my system now and if everything is fine i will write a tutorial.
