Illywo
Hey folks, installed Snow Leopard just a few days ago. Drivers work fine along with everything else. Exept for one little detail driving me crazy. After a certain period (i havent quite figured out which amount of time) the system freezes. Mouse still works, keyboard dead, system doesnt respond to any Mouse activity. Im running a Asus P5Q-E Board if that does matter!? leslieking
1. Check your memory (try memtest86). 2. Check your PSU. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195900-system-freezes-after-period-of-inactivity/#findComment-1320191 Share on other sites
Illywo
Hardware checked. Totally alright. To be mentioned: Linux system runs smoothly. Cant think of any reason for the hardware to be responsible. Beerkex'd
Most PC hardware is not compatible with the way OS X does Power Management. Try disabling automatic sleep and sleep for hard drives in the Energy Saver preferences. Look around for ways to improve Power Management compatibility. In your BIOS, activate all CPU features (except CPUID Limit) and under Power Management enable ACPI 2.0. Disable devices you don't use. Try to get AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement running and look for ways to fix sleep and wake via DSDT. Here are three important threads on the subject: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=188920 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181631 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=192518 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195900-system-freezes-after-period-of-inactivity/#findComment-1324130 Share on other sites
