Butato
Hi folks, I was hoping for some help with a friend's computer that I'm working on. He asked me to set up OS X on his MSI Wind U100, as I had previously done so on mine. However, our models differed slightly and he has a different wireless card than I. My wireless card is made by Realtek, and I had absolutely no problems using the Realtek wireless tool to connect to my home network. His, on the other hand, is a Ralink RT2700e, and for some reason I can't get it working. I downloaded a driver package that included the Ralink wireless connectivity tool, but for some reason cannot get everything working quite right. It will work to the extent that I am able to view wireless networks in the area, even able to supposedly connect to them, but I have no internet access. In the Network pane of the system preferences the connection is listed as "Ethernet 2." Could someone possibly walk me through what I need to do to get this working? I'm not sure how much information you need from my end, so please let me know. Also, I tried to search the forum for this issue but the search tool kept giving me an error - sorry if this has been addressed already.
