fart pants
Ok here's an update: I did a fresh install of 10.6.0 And error free except for a windowsserver error when i shut down (which shows in console). Still no joy, the auto protection engine has been corrupted and fails to start. Interestingly though the errors are less severe in 32bit mode. i get no corruption error but when i check console there is an error for sysdaemon.kext is unable to communicate with kernel. I noticed in verbose mode a kext from norton failed to "upload" I am at work right now so this is from memory of what happened this morning so it may not be 100% accurate. fart pants
Lol, here's another update. I uninstalled norton and installed iantivirus, still no luck. Virus scanning in both products work but auto protect features dont. I wonder if the kexts in my E/E folder are blocking kexts from the antivirus software? Has anyone successfully installed a fully functioning antivirus on SL? If so which one? fart pants
solution found. snow leopard had to be booted in 32bit mode then did a fresh install of norton 11. All is working . It seems 64bit mode corrupts the install?? Strange though because on my missus new macbook pro it installs fine in 64bit. i believe the issue resides in how hackintoshes boot and load kexts.
