lingam
Hi, as the title had stated, I'm trying to install SL on my Hackintosh. I am using this guide for my installation http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/09/install...-pc-hackintosh/ I am using an AMD Phenom X3 8450 and an ASUS M3A78-EM motherboard I followed all the instructions on that guide but when it comes to patching the DSDT, it just gives an error stating that build fail Also, do I need to reinstall all kexts for SL? My full hardware list is : ASUS M3A78-EM AMD Phenom X3 8450 ALC1200 audio Sapphire Ultimate HD 3870 GDDR4 512MB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195795-trying-to-get-snow-leopard-to-work-on-asus-m3a78-em/ Share on other sites
lingam
Bump? I need help here, and I would also like to ask, can I boot up with Snow Leopard without Leopard after the SL installation is completed and tested stable? brilhanteverde
Hi, as the title had stated, I'm trying to install SL on my Hackintosh.I am using this guide for my installation http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/09/install...-pc-hackintosh/ I am using an AMD Phenom X3 8450 and an ASUS M3A78-EM motherboard I followed all the instructions on that guide but when it comes to patching the DSDT, it just gives an error stating that build fail Also, do I need to reinstall all kexts for SL? My full hardware list is : ASUS M3A78-EM AMD Phenom X3 8450 ALC1200 audio Sapphire Ultimate HD 3870 GDDR4 512MB I am trying to install snow leo too but i have absolutely no success. I downloaded the leo hazard distro but it gives me the cmos reset all the time. As soon i install at the first boot, it keeps rebooting. I tried to patch the dsdt, but I could not do it. I tried to compile the dsdt.dsl but it keeps giving an error message. when I tried to force, the dsdt.aml was created but with 0kb of information??? well, the good news is that I could make it work using -force64 at the boot, but the system is totally unstable. the only distro that worked for me was lawless ppc, but I cant get final cut to work. wich is my only reason to use a mac. well, i hope i could help somehow. take care Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195795-trying-to-get-snow-leopard-to-work-on-asus-m3a78-em/#findComment-1410289 Share on other sites
Zarmanto
Sorry to come into these conversations so late... I just haven't felt like I had any real reason to upgrade my hackintosh to Snow until now. I have the M3A78-EM as well, and for Snow I decided to work from a retail Snow installation disk, rather than one of the pre-rolled distros... and ultimately, I think that retail is going to be the better method to use. Much to my disappointment, I have never been able to get the onboard video to work quite right, so I just bit the bullet and bought a cheap Nvidia card, and that did the trick with full QE/CI support. If you have one or two spare SATA hard drives at hand, you could probably follow much the same route that I used to get where I am: I started from an existing Leopard install, which I setup around the middle of last year: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.7#Asus (Scroll down to the AMD section, and I'm the second entry there.) And I just recently got Snow Leopard mostly functional, using the existing Leopard installation for several of the steps: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.4#Asus (I'm the only AMD entry on this list, presently at the top of the Asus section.) Caveats for Snow Leopard: The sound works -- but not perfectly, (see the notes in the wiki) and I'm still trying to find PS/2 kexts which work with this board, though I may just give up on PS/2 and replace my aging PS/2 mouse with a cheap USB mouse. If anyone else comes up with solutions to these minor issues, feel free to contribute either here or over on the wiki.
