P5K Premium & Deluxe with 10.5.8, HELP !

I included the P5K Deluxe because both motherboards, from what I read, have the same major components.

 

I have my P5K with 10.5.8 working but with some issues.

 

Sleep :

It sleeps but the fans still run.

Will not wake back up.

 

Shutdown :

Creates a kernel panic

 

Frequent Kernel Panics : Cause by the IDE drives

I've found the cause of the kernel panics, it's the IDE drives.

I would get kernel Panics when I would unrar a 4.5gb rar file.

I also get them while using parallel desktop.

Transferring huge files over the network from my server to a USB HD.

 

Disk Utility on a fresh restart can reformat the IDE drives but after that Disk Utility goes LOCO!

Can't unmount, can't format can't do nothing.

And once formated, when trying to install applications to the drives, gives read write errors.

I Tried with 3 IDE drives and 3 different IDE cables still the same.

 

Hackintosh Rig

1x P5K Premium WiFi AP

1x Intel Core 2 Duo 6600

1x Samsung 1tb sata

1x Pioneer DVD Drive sata

2x 2 GB mem

 

 

I now have 3 issues, until I find more, I need help fixing.

Sleep. Shutdown and IDE drives.

 

 

If any P5K Premium or Deluxe users have a working setup please tell me what kext's you are using and what bios setting you are using.

Hi, I'm running 10.5.8 with a P5k Deluxe. Use OpenHaltRestart.kext for working shutdown/restart. Sleep is much trickier... haven't had much luck with that since updating from 10.5.6. I've tried various kext solutions (VoodooPower + sleepdisabler, etc.).
