mothergoose729
I have been fiddling with 10.5.8 for like the last twelve hours. I finally have managed to install Mac OSX 10.5, update it online to 10.5.8, and then boot from my external HD without the need of the boot CD. I am using a the following hardware: E2180@2.7ghz GA P45 DS3L motherboard (F10 bios) 2gb of memory USB Seagate 320gb External drive (as main drive) SATA DVD/CD drive I have been following this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=173651 With this guide on DSDT: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=177497 Ok, so I created the DSDT file on a seperate computer, then loaded into my chameleon/extra directory as per the instructions. My video card was not supported by EFI loader, so I used X86 tool, created a custom Geforce Plist file (with the tool avialable, nothing fancy), and then generated a newtork plist with the same tool, pieced them together, and added it to the apple.boot.plist. This worked wonderfully for my VGA. I no longer get trailing windows, and I inserted an HD DVD and played the media, which worked must fine. However, my ethernet is still unavailable after resetting my router several times. I have a LINKSYS WRT54GL with stock firmware BTW, and I am using a CAT 6 wire to connect. I followed the special instructions for audio when using DSDT, and I did everything the guide said for ethernet too, also with no luck. If anybody can do anything to help me out I would really appreciate it, and I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong here.
