koushiro
Hi, Since osx86 tools is no longer being updated, and for SL. Is there an app similar to its downloader? Where I can download and install a kext/driver? Thanks, Josh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195518-is-there-a-driver-downloader-and-installer-for-sl/ Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
What sort of kext are you looking for? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195518-is-there-a-driver-downloader-and-installer-for-sl/#findComment-1318252 Share on other sites
pax1234
Kext Helper b7 works fine with 10.6. I used it to install some kexts that didn't work in the extra folder. koushiro
I usually used osx86tools and when I clicked on install drivers it gave me a window and automatically showed me a list of drivers that matched my sys parts and I could then click on download and install. I'm looking for kexts for audio card and video card. For the video card it's an nvidia and I downloaded nvinject but it doesn't enable quartz. Beerkex'd
Heh, this is the price you pay for using a point and click tool instead of learning how to do stuff by hand. Try NVEnabler, find it at the ProjectOSX forums. Delete NVInject first. Post what sound device you have (including vendor and device ID if you can) and someone will point you to the right driver for it. koushiro
Well, I'm not apposed to doing it manually. I know how to install a kext, I just don't know where to find the drivers that it was using. The audio is ALC888 by Intel, it is built into my motherboard (Asrock 4core 133 esata2) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195518-is-there-a-driver-downloader-and-installer-for-sl/#findComment-1319197 Share on other sites
